Doug Coley, President
With more than 25 years of executive search experience, Doug Coley began Coley Company in June of 2010. Located in Greensboro, NC, Coley Company is focused on apparel, textiles and nonwovens.
Doug received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Appalachian State University. He began his professional career in the textile industry by serving in manufacturing management with Milliken and Company in Pendleton, SC. After working for seven years with Milliken, Doug moved to Greensboro and served as Senior Vice President of Adkins & Associates, an executive search firm for the apparel and fabric industries. He remained with Adkins & Associates until the start of Coley Company.
Since 1997, Doug has been a member of the Pinnacle Society, a premier consortium of top recruiters within the permanent placement and search industries. The Pinnacle Society provides the nation’s top recruiters a forum in which to exchange business principles and placement techniques that lead them to achieve and maintain success.
Doug serves as Founder and Managing Director for the Doug Coley Foundation for Leukemia Research. Through an annual golf tournament, the Doug Coley Foundation has raised more than $310,000 for leukemia research at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, NC.
Doug is a Regional Advisory Board Member for the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He also supports Appalachian State University’s athletic and academic programs. An active member of his local church, Doug resides in North Carolina with his wife, Nancy, of more than 33 years and their two children.
Denise Davis, Vice President
Denise Davis has worked in placement and recruiting for apparel, textiles and nonwovens since 1997. Throughout her career, she has held various positions within the search business including managing the support staff, heading up all research efforts and recruiting. She has exceptional skills at targeting clients’ competitors and finding the best candidate for the position. She is passionate about her niche markets and loves the more “technical” searches. Denise takes the time to understand the full scope of the job in order to deliver the best candidates. She works with candidates by sharing opportunities to help improve their lives and broaden their career paths.
Prior to joining Coley Company, Denise worked with Doug Coley as a recruiter at Adkins & Associates. She loves spending time outdoors with her family and friends and her beloved shih-tzus, “Lil’Bit and Baby.” She enjoys gardening, collecting old textile mill items, working on DIY projects at her home in Virginia and watching Duke basketball games.
Ross Coley, Executive Recruiter
Ross Coley joined Coley Company as Executive Recruiter in June of 2016. Ross, son of Doug Coley, comes from Sasser Companies where he led a team in project management and sales. Ross managed client relationships, recruiting, training and coaching team members. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as Executive Recruiter.
Ross has built a skill set focused on relating to people with a specialized view on the millennial generation. Ross can easily relate to this age demographic because he has shared a lot of the same experiences. He knows what millennials want in their career path and how their contributions can make their company more successful. But, Ross’s biggest passion for his job comes from a desire to help people and a desire to make an impact in the textile, nonwoven and apparel industries.
Ross graduated from Appalachian State University in 2009 where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity. Ross and his wife, Brooke, reside in Greensboro where they are members of Mercy Hill Church. Ross enjoy spending time outdoors, hunting and hanging out with his dog, Dixon.
Nancy Coley serves as Vice President of Coley Company. She is responsible for personnel, operations, vender relations and procurement. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics Education from Appalachian State University, and became a Home Economics teacher at Pendleton High School. After teaching for seven years, Nancy became a stay-at-home mom before receiving her real estate license in 2003. She served as a real estate agent for Allen Tate from 2003 until 2011, at which time she joined Coley Company.
Nancy is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Greensboro, an active member in her local church and, in her spare time, plays tennis for Sedgefield Country Club and for the United States Tennis Association (USTA).
